skull baby is a wonderful and original band that composes and plays songs of dreamy and dark rock. the band comes from columbia, south carolina. the name skull baby comes from a piece of art work created by front man toby bubonic.
this became a musical reality in the winter of 1999. having many diffrent influences has permitted skull baby to present there music in many unique ways. skull baby first release, "give birth" was an album inspired by 80's death rock and more modern black metal. it was greated with great reviews and praise from many underground zines and music fans. the current realease "songs from a wicked heart" shows the true heart and soul of the group. infuenced by bands such as joy division, the cure, the sisters of mercy, the doors, black sabbath, and last but not least the rolling stones. it has a sound that is similar to the current european goth rock movement by bands such as: him, the 69 eyes, charon, entwine, to die for, icon and the black roses, etc. songs from a wicked heart has struck the hearts of many diffrent people saying that it is a great rock album and should not be put in to a typical genere. go ahead, give it a listen
