Something Sacred Here, Susan Kay Wyatt's first release, is a through-composed journey of soothing sounds that takes the listener down a path to connect with spirit. Because of the spoken word or "conversation with God" at the beginning of each song, it is ultimately a "concept" CD.

"So many people, who spend a lot of time in their car, especially in these challenging times, tell me it is the perfect way to get centered and ready to face the world", Susan Kay says. "They actually tell me that they wear this CD out playing it over and over, or they give their copy to someone else and have to order another copy."

"I always considered this body of work for beginner spiritual students who are seeking the truth about who they are. But I have been told it still rings true for those far down their spiritual path who have one of those days that they need a little reminder of the truth of who they are. Every time I hear someone tell me that, I give it another listen myself and I smile at how much I need reminded too."

Featured on this CD is Ming Freeman, keyboard and pianist, for Yanni. Also her dear friend and co-producer, CC Thomas plays bass. CC is a partner in Sound Vision recording studios in Harbor City. CC currently plays bass for Jeffrey Osborne and Diana Ross. Michael Sechrest, another dear friend, co-producer and partner in Sound Vision recording studios plays beautiful acoustic and electric guitar. And of course, it wouldn't be Susan Kay without her cool, lush background vocals.

Susan Kay Wyatt's influences are a combination of early exposure to spiritual music, inspiration from pop music heard on her clock radio, R&B her dad played on the family hi-fi and later, Jazz.

You'll hear her Spiritual Pop side, in Something Sacred Here and in her second CD Speak the Word. Her third CD, The Twelve Gifts of Birth really shows off her diversity in so many ways. You have to hear it to believe it.

And some time in the near future we will be hearing more from her ultimate passion, jazz standards. She has crafted standard tunes inspired by her baby girl and her husband. Its funny, sweet and romantic songs are for anyone who loves kids but needs a break from kiddie music! "Babies and kids should get the real stuff!!! My 3 year old knows who Ella, Etta and Diana are!
