Shakespeare Ballet began as ballet music, following a project conceived together with the Arena Ballet of Verona â The Venetian Dream of Shakespeare, 2005 season â that was dedicated to the Shakespeare works set in the land of Venetia (The taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet, Othello). The musical elaboration is based on many techniques, not only from a compositional point of view, and it is enriched by electronic sonorities, computer elaborations and guided instrumental improvisations. I have re-elaborated the work of many creative interpreters, including pieces by musicians of the Opus Avantra ensemble. (Donella Del Monaco)
