Details:
In 2002 'Alone with my clone' was released on Snork Records, the label set up by the Dutch singer/songwriter Joan Ter Maten (alias Sleepy Joe Tomato). It is Sleepy Joe Tomato's third album. The songs on it were recorded in several studios in Amsterdam with various musicians and producers. It was well received and had quite some airplay, especially the songs 'Italian summer rain' and 'Alone with my clone' (in mono!). The cover of the album was made by the Dutch artist Renee Aardewijn (the Dutch queen Beatrix bought a few of her paintings some time ago).

The song 'Caroline' (with a great pedal steel guitar solo by Dave Ristrim) dates from the 1995 sessions with Scott Mathews, the American producer who a.o. worked with Roy Orbison, John Hiatt, Chuck Prophet and John Lee Hooker (see the text accompanying 'A bumpy ride, an album also available at CD Baby). It brought a big smile to SJT's face when he heard someone tell him the other day that 'Caroline' was one of his favourite 'carsongs'(songs that make you turn up the volume while you're driving).

In the instrumental collage 'Moodswings' SJT's father plays double bass on a fragment of an old recording secretly made in 1944 (the Germans, occupying the country at that time, didn't find out about this clandestine recording-session on glass 78 rpm records by these daring young men in the middle of the night).

You can find all lyrics of 'Alone with my clone' in the weblog of SJT's website now: snork@euronet.nl

If you want more information about SJT you can send an e-mail to: snork@euronet.nl (if you live in Europe, and you order all CDs by SJT, you'll get a little bag of sun-dried tomatoes for free!).
