maybe it's because smash palace is located half way between england and california (the philadephia area) that the band has incapsulated the best of both styles. led by stephen and brian butler, the brothers have been writing and recording great power pop/ rock songs since their first band "quincy" (columbia records) which was signed by paul atkinson of the zombies. after leaving quincy, smash palace was formed and recorded its first album on the epic label. the band had modest success, national air play, some mtv videos and national tours but the band broke up. the brothers butler went on to staff writing at bmg publishing. never really enjoying the "job" of writing for other artists, they went back to what they really love; writing songs for themselves. since 1999, smash palace has released 3 cds filled with great songs, tight harmonies and rockin' guitars. the band plays mostly in the philadephia and new york city area. to find out more about shows and more indepth information, check out their website, smashpalacemusic.com band members are stephen butler..lead vocals and lead guitar, brian butler..vocals and drums, dyanne disalvo...rhythm guitar and vocals, phil rizzo...bass guitar, greg didonato...drums
