Yt, the Tallahassee, Florida native, began rapping in 2003 while in the tenth grade. Throughout his high school years he produced several mixtapes as a solo artist working with producers Big Griff and Faba, and collaborating with fellow artists King Rod, Bane, and The Watchman. As a member of the Christian rap group, Nu Davelopment, Yt also helped create 2 mix tapes which were well received by Churches and other Christian organizations throughout the North Florida region. Yt went on to sell nearly a thousand cds out of his backpack and established a prominent name for himself around Tallahassee. In 2006 he and King Rod won the Perryâs Teen Apollo Night Showcase and were given the opportunity to open for multiplatinum recording artist T-Pain. Later that year Yt graduated high school and began his collegiate career at Auburn University. His success continued in the state of Alabama as he performed at several fraternity houses, open mic nights, and philanthropy events. While in Auburn he teamed up with Nick Suddath to create the fan favorite track, âAuburn Boysâ, which received significant radio play and was performed at pep rallies before football games. His unique style and ability to please a crowd provided Yt with several fans all over the Southeast. During the summer of 2008, Yt went back home to Tallahassee with one thing on his mind: create a classic album to satisfy the hunger of his growing fan base. Yt received several beats from Big Griff, who meanwhile had been establishing a name for himself as a producer down in Tallahassee. The two spent hours developing songs that were both introspective and entertaining, and went to Lay Lo Studios to record. With the help of the masterful engineer Lay Lo, fellow rappers Nick Suddath, King Rod, Dscales, Bane, vocalists Omar and Solefull, and big time producer Ricky Drake (who had previously worked with Da Backwudz) Yt finished his first album, âAudacityâ, in the fall of 2008. Now Yt can be found pushing his album hard all over the southeast. With the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society, he has plenty of motivation to spread his music and help a great cause.
