Details:
I am a singer/songwriter in the folk/blues/country tradition. I play guitar and sing. I play acoustic nights at pubs locally and occasionally do covers but my album is all my own work. I enjoy singing and I strive to play guitar better and better. I love percussion and harmonica on my tracks and enjoyed the slow and laborious process of recording the album. I was heavily influenced by Joni Mitchell and Melanie Safka when I was younger. Apart from Sandy Denny and a few others they were a minority of women in folk and rock. I also compose and am in the process of making a meditation CD as I have studied Tibetan Buddhist Meditation. My songs are taken from the struggles of my life, broken relationships, disappointments, illusions , dreams and desires. Music to me is therapy,intoxication,transcendence and another dimension to my existence. I am 55 and still loving playing and gigging. I have a son who is going to university next year, and 2 cats. At the moment I am listening to Oysterband, the Peatbog Fairies, Mary Gautier, and Madelaine Peyroux as well as my son's band Overture.
