Breaking into South Floridaâs DIY punk scene, Modern Day 84 began playing music in the summer of 2000. What started off as a few backyard jamming sessions developed into a serious idea, when they began to draw in kids from the streets. Despite some early struggles, Modern Day 84 was determined to get their music out.

Over the years, they have had the opportunity to grow as musicians and most importantly as individuals. Through the trials that they have faced and the experiences that they lived through, Modern Day 84 has fought hard to have their voices heard through an energetic and dynamic style of politically charged music. In early 2001, Modern Day 84 self-released a six-song EP as their introduction to the world. On May 31st in 2002, Geykido Comet Records released âDropping Food On Their Heads Is Not Enoughâ, a compilation inspired by a number of politically-conscious and socially-aware punk artists coming together to help raise awareness and funds for the women and children of war-torn Afghanistan. As part of this musical brigade, they had the chance to work with a number of renowned artists. On May 17th in 2005, Complacent Records released âVoices of Discontentâ, a compilation pinning them together with bands such as a Red Tape, Naked Aggression, Intro5pect, Monster Squad, and others. In 2008, Modern Day 84 was proud to present their first full length album composed of 23 hard-hitting tracks that brought us back to a time where the meaning behind the music made all the fucking difference.

Though itâs still early in their career, they have had the privilege of playing and making friends with some of the best bands in the scene as well a number of punk rock legends who have paved the way for the musicians of today. These include Jello Biafra, Against All Auithority, Anti-Flag, Strike Anywhere, The Adolescents, The Queers, Marky Ramone, The Subhumans, The Casualties, & more.

Armed with ideas for change in a world where conformity and submission are praised, Modern Day 84 continues to provide a voice for those whoâve just had enough of our torn society!
