Carolann Solebello is a native New Yorker whose biggest claim to fame (for the moment) is having lived in every borough of that fair city EXCEPT Manhattan. Carolann spent several years touring the nation as a professional theatre actor before finding her way back home as part of an original "folkabilly blues" duo called Blind Diva (with singer/guitarist Hope Nunnery). Since going solo in 1998, her rich voice and distinctive brand of urban folk have graced such New York City rooms as CBGB 313 Gallery, The C-Note, The Baggot Inn, Eureka Joe, The Elbow Room and SUN Music Company as well as in well-known circuit venues Fire & Water (Northampton, MA) and Acoustic Café (Black Rock, CT), plus a few not-so-well-known watering holes in Florida, Pennsylvania and Kansas.

Carolann has also been known to ply her trade underground along the N/R subway line in lower Manhattan. Her onstage sets are often augmented by the Brooklyn Banshees, better known as percussionist Cheryl Prashker and bassist Mark Berube.

Carolann's first solo CD, Just Across the Water, is a stylistically eclectic, lyrically-driven collection of songs of innocence and experience. Featuring ten all-acoustic urban folk tracks, Carolann features her dramatic vocals and sweet acoustic guitar while spotlighting stellar guests - cellist Michele Moyer, upright bassist Matt Scharfglass (of indie band Mrs. Grundy), plus percussionists Brendan McGowan (of Latin Rock band Ernesto) and Cheryl Prashker (of Elizabeth Records' acoustic quartet CC Railroad).
