Details:
"I could see a band like Space March really finding a large audience. This type of hook-laden, obsessively melodic pop would really fly well with indie fans...This is how pop music should sound." - Indieville

"Space March represents a divergence from the synth pop model, delivering a parallel blend of catchy songwriting and machine-aided construction while adding enough humanness...an engaging, elusive sound." - Splendid

"...an excellent achievement in electronic pop music." - Synthpop.NET

Space March is essentially about great pop music - pop music that makes you feel and makes you think. Whether the instruments are synthesizers, guitars, strings or electric pianos, Space March believes in the 'old fashioned' notion that pop music can be an art form that challenges as well as entertains.

Space March is the solo project of Craig Simmons from the renown Australian Synth-pop duo - ElectroSquad. In a way, Space March represents the third phase of ElectroSquad, combining the strengths of the previous two albums along with a more indie orientation.

As the principal member of ElectroSquad, Craig released two critically acclaimed electronic pop albums through ElectroSquad and had songs placed on a number of pop compilations and tribute albums, as well as remixing tracks for leading American Synth-pop bands Ganymede and Carol Masters. The ElectroSquad song 'The Moment Of Truth (Ganymede Remix)' also won Best Remix in the 2001 American Synth-pop Awards.

The debut self-titled album from Space March combines Beatlesque melodies and clever lyrics in a "spaced-out" electronic pop/rock style. Although Space March has a very distinctive sound, it is one that is not easily categorised. Similarly, although Space March is influenced by a host of arty pop bands from the 1960s to current day, it is not easily likened to another band. Space March might not fit the formula but it offers an alternative that is equally engaging.

The name Space March comes from a musical theme by John Barry that first appeared in the score to the 007 Film "You Only Live Twice". The name Space March is kind of a "tip of the hat" to the legendary composer John Barry.
