Don de Leaumont is a Folksinger/Songwriter from Durham, NC but to call Don merely a folksinger would be putting a label on someone who defies any kind of label. He is a traditional soul in a modern world, always looking for ways to bring the two together in a melting pot of heart, soul, and pure fun.

Inspired by such acts as The Grateful Dead, CSNY, The Band, and Kevn Kinney, Don's songs can make you smile, make you cry, make you think, and sometimes even wanna get up and just shake your bones. Don has taken elements of some of his favorite artists and just thrown them into one big melting pot. That melting pot is "This Train's A Comin'"

Don's new release "This Train's A Comin'" is a soundtrack for the lonely, the loved, the settled, the wandering and all in between. There's no need to pack your bags. Just throw on some headphones, close your eyes and let Don's songs steer you from one destination to another.


For many years, the "train" has been a symbol of Americana culture. A symbol with an underlying meaning as huge as it's own physical being. The train has been used in many of the greatest songs. From the traditional "Reuben's Train" to the Yardbird's "Train Kept A Rollin:". From Gladys Knight's "Midnight Train To Georgia" to the name of the popular rock group, "Train". Just what is it about this train that is so appealing to artists?


The word "train" evokes many meanings to me. Aside from just being a huge locomotive of steal and steam, I view the train as a symbol of intensity; a symbol of destiny; a symbol of departure, travel, and arrival. These are the reasons the train is such a strong concept for this collection of songs.



"This Train's A Comin" is a concept, but a simple concept at that. While all of these songs are their own entity, they are tied together by concepts very similar to that of the train. These are songs that represent destiny, departure, travel, and arrival. My way of letting you, the listener, know that that you are listening to a mere single stop on what is a long, incredible journey.

Don is currently performing shows all over the Southeast in support of "This Train's A Comin'" and will be pulling into many new areas with hopes of sharing his journey with anyone who will join in on the ride.
