David and Martin met filming Pseudoliparis Amblystomopsis in the Pacific which is surprisingly cute and energetic for a deep-sea fish. After befriending the polar bear called Ofeig, found floating on a shard of ice due west of Greenland, the three became pirates for a time, routing and pillaging, pilching knowledge from sea lions with strange voices. Garnering information, the likely culprits concocted a scheme to transmit aural memetic codes to other members of The Service scattered throughout the sphere. It is from these humble origins that the present album was born.

Angakkuk, who has been a mentor to generations of jazzers, on becoming entranced by Dave's intervallic structures and pedal caresses, promptly mounted the table and announced, admittedly, that although he had a penchant for digression, he would never-the-less condescend to channel information for The Reaston Kay promo.

âsinuous curves, accidental discoveries .......... several discourses could be employed to imitate butterflies flapping ....... the intellectual frame work that emerges through the audible entrance of sound and emotion evoked [a small child interrupts at this point but is effectively brushed off]. Bewildered by this speech, David and Martin returned to Bondi contented and over fish.

INDIVIDUAL BIOGRAPHIES

Martin Kay ranges from project to project grazing for others pleasure and his own solipsistic grace. He is known for his work in Continuum Sax Quartet, delving into international Contemporary Classical repertoire and commissioning Australian composers to experiment with the medium; The Fantastic Terrific Munkle, who create perverse confabulations of potentially respectable originals; MA, who deliver gorgeous pop, to which he contributes an amplified textural base of multiphonics and other mercurial sounds; casual work with the Sydney Symphony/Tasmanian Symphony/Malaysian Symphony/Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestras; the improviser/composer nonet Invisible City; The Vamp Band, supporting the multi-fabulous Meow Meow.

David Reaston is a Sydney based guitarist who composes and improvises 21st Century Art Music. The cut and splice, intellectual internal reference, and sonic blasts of his Ten Guitar Project, combined with freebased improvisation have confirmed him as an audacious innovator. As well as pointed abstraction, Dave is known for his symmetrical handshakes and a beautiful take on traditional standards, particularly his use of reharmonisation and polyphony. David owns a Masters of Music (Composition) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and a Bachelor of Jazz Studies from the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
