Description:

(ID 587588)
Powerful, cinematic pop from the former Zikzak frontman.

12 MP3 Songs
POP: Quirky, ROCK: Modern Rock

Details:
Todd Stadtman, primary songwriter and frontman for Zikzak, follows up that band's acclaimed debut cd "See You There" with this solo collection. This time he coproduces with reknowned film soundtrack artists Pray For Rain ("Sid and Nancy", "Straight to Hell", etc.) providing a lush, cinematic setting for his sharply crafted pop tunes. Guest artists such as American Music Club/Swans guitarist Vudi help round out the sound. Here as always, Stadtman combines his skill at classic pop songcraft with an aesthetic honed in punk and alternative music, mining for the fresh and unexpected within the limits of the three minute pop single.

Here's what some reviewers have said about Todd Stadtman and "Anxotica":

"a genius of timeless pop who deserves much more praise than he has received"
-aB Magazine

"Stadtman croons prada issue, post-modern pop songs in a voice that recalls a young Brian Ferry."
-Pittsbugh Tribune-Review

"I can think of a lot of artists that could benefit from some of the instrumental song-crafting skills that Zikzak's Todd Stadtman displays on this album."
-Left Off The Dial

"Stadtman writes songs like some odd hybrid of Martin Gore and Elvis Costello."
-Jetbunny Magazine

"Todd Stadtman has a sheer talent for his craft."
