Moulded from the raw engergy of hardcore, the precision of metal, and the noncompliance of three decades of punk rock; Stalins War was concieved in the skateboarding mecca of Santa Cruz, California. Hard, intense, resourceful and ferociously dedicated, Stalins War defies the "female fronted stigma" by being tough, aggressive, original and independent; and by thrashing the notion of a typical, female-fronted, candy-covered, pop punk band. Noted as one of the hardest working bands around, Stalins War breaks all barriers with their intergrity, ingenuity, honesty and sincerity.

As a band, Stalins War comes from a variety of musical influences and political perspectives. While the band has been through several major line-up changes, no member of Stalins War is, has ever been a Communist. The name Stalins War represents the less than perfect aspects of our social nature, and the war to achieve our dreams and goals-beyond all odds, and surpass all that stands in our way.

In the five years the band has been together, they have managed to make a honorable resume for themselves.Self-booking two complete all-ages United States tours(California to Maine), and several North-Western tours, Stalins War has played or driven through nearly every state in the Mainland U.S.. In addition to touring, Stalins War has also played a considerable amount of shows in the Northern California area, creating a loyal and ever growing fan base,not just in California, but also across the entire country, and beyond.

Stalins War has self released two full length albums (1999,2000) and in 2002 released the three song demo/EP "We Represent the Voice of Opposition". Stalins War takes a leap, and succeeds in uniting both hardcore and punk with female vocals, all set off with a tough guy feel.

In 2003, Stalins War released the limited edition blue vinyl EP, "A Mirror In A Dark Room" on UnFun Records. Recieved with excellent reviews, Stalins War further pushed the envelope by adding a taste of metal to their brand of catchy hardcore. Because of Stalins War's diverse band dynamics, and expansive gamut of musical influences, they appeal to a wide variety of audiences, and can easily grace the stages of nearly any punk, hardcore, metal, or femme-fronted show. Without a doubt, Stalins War is one of the most hardworking, independent bands around. Charged with a Do-It-Yourself philosophy, the band has managed to accomplish a tremendous amount by themselves, including a world wide network of DIY distributors.

As a follow up to the Mirror In a Dark Room EP Stalins War heads to the studio in February and March to record their next full length album A Rebirth In Flames also to be released on UnFun Records. The album is expected to drop May 15th, and will be supported by a summer of touring throughout the United States and Canada.
