Finally! The U.S. Mods music is available as downloads!

Tom Henninger and Mike Clements started the U.S. Mods in 1986. Mike was banging on the drums with a powerful, straight ahead attitude. Tom was playing his new songs that were inspired by the classic Joe Jackson album âLook Sharpâ. Spunky, Hyper-Pop rock with a lyrical bend towards awkward love relationships and social inequities.

With the addition of Bruce Warren, one of the top bass players in the Dayton area, the U.S. Mods sound formed around a great chemistry, mainly beer.

In 1987, the U.S. Mods recorded and released âFrom The Free Worldâ to college radio. âA Million Tears Awayâ held the #1 spot on a popular Cleveland college radio station for 4 weeks. The album was on the top 30 play lists of over 275 radio stations across the country.

Soon after, Dave Kraus joined the band as lead guitarist. It was time to let loose and when the Mods went back into the studio to record their new album âStation 7â they were fully engaged and ready to broaden their musical output. The result is a tight collection of songs building upon the Mods impressive musical vocabulary. âStation 7â finds the Mods taking chances lyrically, vocally and using the sound effects to bring out the deliberate, âSgt. Pepperâ sensibility.

In 1989, âStation 7â was released to college radio. Once again, college radio responded with over 320 college radio stations reporting the U.S. Mods on their top 30 play lists. The Mods also got a great deal of airplay on a prominent radio station in Dublin, Ireland. A radio station in Berlin, Germany also reported playing the U.S. Mods "Station 7â LP.

By the summer of 1989 the Mods were working on their next album, âMindless Moderationâ. The album was finished, so what is on the CD is the Mods practicing the new songs for playing live and recording. To be released soon on CD Baby!
