Description:

(ID 590729)
"Copyshop Girl" is a slice of amped-up. stadium-fueled power pop that evokes Cheap Trick in the relentless balls-out guitar histrionics and Fountains of Wayne with its witty wordplay and charming subject matter.

Details:
April 6, 2004 sees the release of the brand new Stratocruiser single, "Copyshop Girl". This is a limited edition CD single featuring a new track taken from their forthcoming CD "Suburban Contemporary" which will be released in the summer of 2004. "copyshop Girl" is the first release from the new lineup of Stratocruiser which now features Clay Howard (currently also in Barely White and x-Diggin' Taters) as well as performances by Jon Heames (Let's Active, Motocaster, Stream), Peele Wimberley (The Connells, Jennyanykind), Robbie Rist (Wonderboy, The Mockers, The Masticators) as well as returning members Mike Nicholson, Brunson Hoole & Jay Shirley.

"Copyshop Girl" is a fist-pumping rocker that has at it's core a HUGE and poppy hook tempered with ferocious guitars and explosive drums.
Produced with Robbie Rist (and he also is the the rhythm section on "Copyshop Girl"), "Copyshop Girl" is both modern and retro at the same time. This is the kind of song that used to be on the radio when radio mattered.

The "Copyshop Girl" CD single includes 3 non-CD tracks including an acoustic rendering of Cheap Trick's classic, "Come On, Come On". It also features a non-CD track called "Hearts Are Wrong" which could be a single in its own right and Stratocruiser's valiant attempt to bring the time-honored "big rock" drum solo to the idiom of indie-pop in "Billy Budd" (spot the Herman Melville reference).

PRESS:
"Oh yeah!  This is rock and roll!  Think what would happen if The Kings got together with The Beatles and The Kinks, and you get an idea of the arena ready power pop that is Stratocruiser.  With a full length CD due out this summer, this track from this specially priced EP previews what should be one very kick ass summer CD.  Really killer stuff."
