Details:
TOM STAHL Tom writes the songs, sings the songs, and plays guitar for Tom Stahl & the Dangerfields; hence the headlining billing in the group name. A native of Buffalo, Tom was pursuing a career in distribution networks for aesthetic enhancement products. (Some would refer to this as driving a truck and delivering paint.) One day Tom seriously injured his back. (Is there a way to light-heartedly injure one's back?) The ensuing downtime led Tom to turn to songwriting in an attempt to retain his sanity. (By most accounts this was, on the whole, a successful endeavor.) At this point the Stahl household began to overflow with music. It's one thing for the hills to be alive with the sound of music, but in a house in Kenmore it can start to get old after a while. Tom's wife, Lou, decided something had to be done. She persuaded (ultimatum is such an ugly word...) Tom to perform his songs in public. Armed with a batch of songs, Tom headed to the open mike night at Nietzsche's where his gift with a song was recognized by local impresario Mike Meldrum, who became an early supporter. Seeing as how these open mike nights brought some peace and quiet to the household, Louie proceeded to book shows, finance CD recordings (amazing how high the limits are on credit cards these days...), take promo pictures, and generally worked to get the ball rolling. Since then Tom has recorded seven CD's, two solo and five with a band. The current band lineup has been in place for the three most recent CD's.
