Pam Steinfeld has been likened to some of the best singer/songwriters in the country, including Joni Mitchell, Lucy Kaplansky, and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Pam has over 20 songwriting awards to her credit, including 6 from the Billboard Song Contest. Since the release of her WAMMIE-nominated CD "Open Hands," she has performed throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, sharing the stage with Richie Havens, Debi Smith, Chuck Brodsky, Bill Staines, Mark Erelli, Tom Prasada-Rao among others.

Pam's debut CD "Open Hands" was released on Vineyard Breeze Records in June of 2001. With Pam on vocals, guitar, and keyboards, the CD was produced with WAMMIE Producer of the Year Marco Delmar at Recording Arts Studios. "Open Hands" won two WAMMIE nominations for Best Debut Recording and Best Contemporary Folk Recording from the Washington Area Music Association.

Pam wrote eleven of the tunes on "Open Hands." The twelfth song is a cover of John Gorka's "Love is Our Cross to Bear." The CD features musical contributions by Jon Carroll, J.T. Brown, and Robbie Magruder - all three of whom toured with Mary Chapin Carpenter - as well as guitar virtuoso Al Petteway and other talented musicians.

"Pam Steinfeld has a folky release entitled 'Open Hands' that is gettin' a heap o' praise out there from the Billboard crew. It is heartfelt and good. She can sing sweetly with that perfect lilt that is hard to master. Her songs are well crafted. Her guitar work fits perfectly with her voice. Look out Mary Chapin." Music Monthly

" 'Open Hands' is a CD filled with lovely melodies and great musicianship as well as Pam's clear, strong voice and fabulous songwriting." - www.Collectedsounds.com

"[Pam] sports a wisdom and appreciation of those things in life to which we are glad we're tethered. Her voice has an earnest charm not unlike a Carly Simon or a Carolyn Hester." - Jon Carroll, keyboard player and vocalist, Mary Chapin Carpenter band

"[Pam Steinfeld is a] fine songwriter, celebrating her new CD 'Open Hands.' The lighthearted material talks about real life with an easy charm." - WashingtonPost.com
