Details:
Adam Stengel has a lot in common with Roy Hobbs. After a brush with death, the fictional character from "The Natural" - played by Robert Redford - walked away from the game of baseball. Despite his love for the game - and his great talent, Hobbs' disgust with the corrupt practices in the game, led him to put away his uniform and his "bat carved by lightning".

Stengel's first album, "Train of Thought" was released to little fanfare - and minimal promotion - in 1992. Soon thereafter, he also experienced a brush with death. Like Hobbs, despite his love for music and talent for songwriting, he put down his pen and guitar and walked away from the music business.

And now, just like Hobbs, Stengel has returned with his first release in over a decade, "The Last Day of Summer." Older, wiser and exhibiting no desire to compromise with the realities of the commercial demands of the music business, Stengel teamed up with new label, 67 Records, to release this record of twelve original songs.

These songs exude an honesty that is not readily apparent in the corporate music that is released today. "I am not interested in the sales figures." Stengel says, "This album was made for the people who spent thousands of hours of their childhood listening to music - and learning from music that anything is possible."
