After attending art school and releasing two full length demos in Colorado, Sterling moved to LA to pursue a career in art and music. Self Portrait is a collection of songs that are highly personal, emotional, and thought provoking. The CD booklet further highlights the openess of the music, containing several of Sterling's paintings, all depicting his own face. Self portrait and it's predecessors have recieved steady airplay on college and independent radio both in the US and internationally. Sterling's songs are skillfully crafted and diverse, with lyrics that catch your attention and hooks that bounce around your head for days.
