The now classic debut album from the mighty Los Angeles Americana trio. Lost love never felt so damn good on this 12 track gem of timeless songwriting.
12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Americana, FOLK: Folk Blues
Details:
This is one of those records you come across once every couple of years. It seems to fall into your lap, almost without you knowing it, from some random source, and finds you just when you needed to hear it. The songs somehow creep into your life and become a kind of soundtrack to the day to day events. That "road trip" or that "last time you saw them" will be with you vividly everytime you put the record on.
I remember asking singer Gregg Sarfaty what they were aiming for when they were sitting in the living room recording "Wanted A Girl". He paused a moment then smiled,"We wanted to tell the kinds of stories that would touch the listener everytime, songs that really got to the heart of the matter and moved all of us. We wanted to make music we'd be proud of in twenty years. We're an ambitious bunch."
Once in a great while a record comes along that truly captures a phase of your life and it's so difficult to explain just why you hold it so dear. I'll just call it a "classic" and invite you to listen for yourself.
