Jaiâs roots and compelling musical heritage are grounded in the rich and distinct musical culture of the âBig Easyâ New Orleans. Singing is not foreign to Jai, actually, he started singing for friends, family and local church groups at the developmental age of six. As a teenager, Jai became a member of the group Endurance; along with group members William Maxwell, Bryon Pierce (Men of Standard), Edward West (Collage) and the late Michael Robinson. This is the group which launched Jaiâs professional music career.

Currently, Jai holds the elite recognition of being nominated for the 24th Annual Stellar Awards as; Male Vocalist of the Year 2009 and will perform his single "Anointed Me" on the national televised show! He can also be seen on the Bobby Jones Program on the Word Network and was also blessed to give an outstanding performance for Dr. Bobby Jones â 70th birthday celebration.

A quick glance at Jaiâs repertoire of performances is quite impressive. He has toured with two outstanding stage plays (Michael Matthewâs production of âMama Iâm Sorryâ and Tyler Perryâs âI Know Iâve Been Changedâ). He has shared the stage with legendary artists such as Shirley Murdock (âA Womanâs Point Of Viewâ and âLet There Be Love,â Electra Records), Melba Moore (âLean On Meâ and âLift Every Voice and Singâ), David Preston (âTwo Wrongs Donât Make It Right,â âDonât Say Noâ and âCan Iâ? Geffen Records), Mixed Emotions (including Luxury of Love, MCA) and many others.

Jaiâs musical career is remarkably extensive, he was formerly a member of the group Nu-Beginnings with two remarkably gifted vocalists, Melaney Batiste and Erica Falls. They released their debut project entitled âWhere He Leads Me.â Internationally, this powerful and talented group traveled abroad to Brazil, France, Spain, Italy, Finland and other venues. In 2001, the group recorded their second project âLive In Brazilâ abroad. He has blessed the masses globally with his music, message and ministry. Their domestic credits are also quite impressive. The group performed at the House of Blues Gospel Tribute, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and recently in The Essence Festival in New Orleans.

Jai blessed the masses in 2000 with his debut solo project âI Canât Repay.â This project was absolutely anointed and the blessings were bountiful to his fans and multiple listeners throughout the United States and abroad.

Most notable, however, is his ministry objective for the gospel community through the âministry of song.â âAnointed for Purposeâ immediately establishes a dialogue with the melody and the lyrics and diffuses this quality throughout.
