Details:
"The Sound of Thoughts" is what you hear when you are someplace alone and everything around you is quiet - that sound that is a high pitch whine that seems to be coming from somewhere between your ears and exists all around you. It's the sound of your nervous system keeping tabs on all your senses; the sound of sanity being lost or gained; the sound of clarity of purpose or the sound of lost focus and chaos.

It's the realization of your own mortality - that realization that hits you every time you have to face others' leaving or finding out about your own last days.

Turbulent and unsettling - sometimes musically but other time lyrically, "The Sound of Thoughts" covers much ground as the last thoughts of a man unwind through the parallel realities that represented the possible paths he could have chosen in life.

Reviews so far for the CD have been glowing - promising much for the present in terms of listening pleasures and also provides a look into the future of more such material geared to fans of progressive rock music.

Robert Svilpa is a guitarist/keyboardist and vocalist who is heavily influenced by such a wide range of artists that it would be impossible to pinpoint one specific artist that has the largest influence. You will definitely hear Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Rush, Genesis and Dream Theater influences - they are so hard to miss. But there are a ton of other influences that direct the writing - Matthew Sweet, James Taylor, CSNY, REM, Blue Rodeo, Tool, Elliot Smith, King's X, Opeth, Peter Gabriel, Peter Hammill, Marillion, Fish, Porcupine Tree... the list just goes on and on. To pigeonhole Rob into any one genre wouldn't be fair to the music - it's got very technical sections that all progressive rock fans love but it's also extremely moody and lives/breathes tension. His lyrics paint stark and bleak but yet technicolor pictures as the music sets a dynamic soundtrack - sometimes gothic but also playful at times; it's music that can be challenging to listen to but in the end is worth the effort.
