The smooth and soulful sounds of veteran tenor sax man Sammy Dee pleased audiences for many years. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, he was founder and leader of the band for the show âBandstandâ before it became âAmerican Bandstand â. He also played with many acts such as Chuck Berry, Arthur Prysock, Bill Haley, and countless others.
After moving to LA he continued to play and record, delighting everyone with his unique sound and style, playing Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and all over Southern California in venues large and small. (Caesarsâs Palace, jazz clubs, concerts, etc.
Sammyâs sound is his own, with a warmth and authenticity that the listener can feel- straight from the heart, making familiar songs come alive in a way few others have done.
