Crash the Car is Kyle Cashenâs songwriting project: sometimes performing alone, sometimes with a band; comfortably playing songs with an indie rock, electronic, or acoustic feel.

Crash the Car's first full length album, They Built Houses Here, was released independently on November 19, 2008. It was produced by Walter Bloodway, recorded and mixed by multi-instrumentalist Jordy Walker (Christine Fellows, Kepler, Kim Barlow), and mastered by Graemme Brown (Zen Mastering).

In early 2007, Kyle was a musical director, contributory song writer, and performer in Dreamtime; a collaboration of live words and music, animation, dance, shadows, video; experimental, organic, and mechanized. Two of the Dreamtime performances included collaborations with Inuk throat singer Tanya Tagaq and DJ Michael Red.
