The latest solo CD from award-winning songwriter Steve Tannen, featuring his NYC Band. Beautiful melodies, great choruses, and a strong sense of groove; heartfelt pop rock that you can listen to over and over.
11 MP3 Songs
POP: Folky Pop, ROCK: Americana
Details:
Born in New York City, Steve grew up in Australia, Canada, and New York. The son of a jazz pianist and the grandson of a magician, he started performing early and learned music at home.
Steve spent several years working odd jobs around the U.S., writing, performing, and developing a personal musical style of folk and rock. He then moved back to NYC and started a rock and roll project, with help from former Suzanne Vega guitarist Jon Gordon.
Steve's resulting debut CD, "Big Señorita," was chosen as one of Performing Songwriter Magazine's Top 12 Indie Releases of the Year in 2001. The CD enabled him to tour nationally, and garnered him an avalanche of national and international awards, including the Grand Prizes in both the Mid-Atlantic and USA Songwriting Competitions.
In addition to his solo work, Steve is currently a member of two bands: The Tannen Brothers (with brother Greg Tannen), and The Weepies (with collaborator Deb Talan).
"Stopped at a Green Light" is Steve Tannen's second solo release.
