Ezra Axelrod is a classically trained, American singer-songwriter now residing in London. His unique sound is characterized by a biting vocals and sparse, haunting orchestrations. In the vein of Tori Amos, Tom Waits, Johnny Cash and Rufus Wainwright, Ezra's songs are reflections of the complicated world in which we live, each one an intimate story of different characters who in some way or another relate to the singer. The music takes listeners on a searching journey that is sure to inspire.
Ezra grew up in a small, dusty town in the Wild West, music forming his bridge to the outside world. After highschool, he studied music composition and vocal performance at Middlebury College, in Vermont, where he received his BA in 2008. Upon graduation, he moved to London where he was involved in several projects before launching his solo career.
The Enfield Sessions features Jules Jackson on double bass and drums and was recorded at his study in Enfield.
