Details:
Taylor B. McKinnon was born in Birmingham Ala in 1933, and after the usual routine of grammer school, dropped out of high school when his father died on 1947 in order to become a weldor supporting his family. At the outbreak of the Korean war, he enlisted in the Air Force, where the Air Force got him his high school diploma . He served as an airplane mechanic on B-29 Bombers flying from Okinawa during the Korean war, and got flying experience as a flight mechanic in between wars. By 1960 he had earned enough college credits to be selected for Officers Candidate School, from which he graduated in 1961 as a 2nd Lieutenant. After finishing aircraft Engineering officers school he was sent to South Viet Nam as Field Maintenance Officer at Saigons Tan Son Nhut Airport, where he was promoted to Captain and earned the Bronze Star Medal. Retiring as a Major he taught aviation at San Bernardino Vally college for 20 years, then upon retirement took up a child hood hobby of country music, having learned guitar from his mother, and fiddle from his father. He has produced three country music albums, and chose to do this CD as a contribution to his veterans group, the TanoSon Nhut Assiciation,made up of veterans of all sercices stationed at, or passing through Saigon Airport.
