THE CONGREGATION OF VAPORS is a band that does not exist. Fluid in size, shape, sound and scope, we record and perform music of every genre, changing our roster completely to fit any project we undertake.
Sometimes we are a garage-size rock band. Sometimes a small orchestra. Sometimes we are, well, one guy at a piano. We are an experiment in sensibility and substance over style - and we are never the same thing twice.
In October of 2004, we assembled a five-piece to record a protest song entitled "With Love From America." And what a group: Collider's Jed Davis on piano and lead vocals; Guitarist Sean Gould and bassist St3ve Ruchelman of Bandcamp; Brian Dewan on accordion; Matt Johnson (John Mayer, Jeff Buckley) on the drums.
The B-side of our single is our world-famous recording of Randy Newman's classic, "Political Science." Strike a blow for freedom with The Congregation Of Vapors!
