Details:
Melbourne-based TEMPLATE is Australia's most exciting and revered progressive rock band. Formed in late 2001 by Michael Mills (guitars/vocals) Jarrod Ross (bass) and Peter Marin (drums), the band were quickly praised by radio stations and press alike, not to mention their ever-expanding fanbase (which is now worldwide). Perhaps out of pure demand, Template recorded and released, completely and utterly independently, their debut album in 2003. By the end of that year, the first pressing had sold out, primarily through gigs and indie record stores. Online, word about the band spread like wildfire, and not only scored airplay on respectable homeland stations Triple M, PBSFM and Triple J, but also right around the world, including Germany and the U.S.
In the press, Template have received rave reviews in local street magazines such as Beat, Inpress, Forte and X-Press magazine, as well as magazines such as DrumScene and Canada's Brave Words and Bloody Knuckles.
At time of writing, Template plan to record a follow-up to their phenomenal debut toward the end of 2004. A DVD is also on the cards, featuring studio clips and live performances.
