This project was originally conceived to be the âunpluggedâ half of a 2 CD set that began in 1998 as a follow-up to Benâs first release âLet The Madness Beginâ. Various circumstances prevented the completion of that ambitious endeavor, and with the help and dedication of Lynn Allred at LA-Audio, work on âGiant Emptinessâ started up again in 2007. The decision was made at that time to release this project separately, and it is a throwback to Benâs earlier reputation as a folk artist in the Kansas City music scene. The Bonus Track included here, âWayward Loveâ, was initially part of the âelectricâ set, â12 Room Houseâ (to be released later in 2009). The other 13 songs here are some of my favorites, just Ben and a few compadres having a ball in the studio.
