German guitarist Thomas Langer has created an interesting blend of jazz-fusion and music from around the world on his latest release. Langer, who has recorded with bassist Jeff Andrews, is a solid fusion soloist and he builds varied soundscapes on electric and acoustic guitars, augmented by his group which includes bass, percussion, keys, drums and accordion. "Something Left Unspoken" brings to mind some of Metheny and Pedro Aznar's work while the wah-wah leads on 'John Burgerhaus' are a fine example of his fusion blowing.
