BLUES: Acoustic Blues, FOLK: Modern Folk

Details:
this is the fourth and most recent solo album from dobro monster lloyd Thayer. It contains his most recent songs, mostly written in the year 2003, and recorded in may of 2004. The fourteen songs contain and interesting mix of raw acoustic delta style blues and slightly quieter songs that tell stories of love, loss, joy, healing, growth, and walking through life with a resonator guitar on your lap.......
downbeat magazine says "irritable wit soaks the words to arresting originals"......and the Long Island Blues Society says : "lloyd Thayer is a man who takes pictures of himself with a cinder block inserted as his head. His dobro lap steel artistry is renowned in his hometown of Brockton , MA and in the subway stations and flop houses of Harvard square. After 12 years in the band "Nobody" he went out solo but not until after transmuting Ozzy's hits into a bluegrass manifesto. You never know what he'll do next when armed with a musical saw, didgeridoo, sitar, harmonica, clarinet, hurdy gurdy and bass but if he took the time to relearn 300 of his own songs for his new solo career, you can expect something strangely wonderful. "
steve crafts says: "I just don't get to hear enough of the kind of music you play....and hardly ever hear it live. I just want to let you know how much I dig listening to you"
and last but certainly not least, dobro master stacy phillips, author of The Complete Dobro Player, and a plethora of other dobro books says: "His maniacal pose cannot disguise a seriously innovative player who is creating a unique musical path".
none of those things should make you want to buy the cd, but they can be amusing if read the right way......
till next time.
peace
