Details:
"The quality, precision, authenticity, talent and warmth of both interpreters in this flute/guitar duo are such that the listener has the impression of hearing these tangos for the first time, even if they are actually classics from the tango golden age. Such is the amazing style of Flor de Tango."

Mirta Wymerszberg (flute) was born in Buenos Aires and has performed tango with well-known local musicians. She earned a Master in flute performance at the Conservatory of Buenos Aires, as well as a degree in baroque flute performance and chamber music at Lyon, France. She moved to California in 1995, where she co-founded, performed and recorded with Flor de Tango and continued to develop her career in baroque music with faculty of the Music Department at Stanford University. After obtaining a Master of Arts degree in flute performance at UC Santa Cruz she moved to Seattle, WA, where she founded tango band La Luciérnaga. She is presently enjoying a sabbatical quarter in Buenos Aires.
Guillermo García (guitar) was born in Bahía Blanca, a southern port of Argentina, where he started playing tango and folklore music at age 10, studied classical guitar, and also graduated as an electrical engineer. He moved to Paris to work for IRCAM at the Centre Pompidou, where he specialized in audio and music engineering and created the voice soundtrack for the movie "Farinelli" (Academy Nominee 1995). He also obtained a Master degree in audio signal processing at Université d'Orsay and then moved to California, where he co-founded, performed and recorded with tango bands Flor de Tango and Trio Garufa. He has worked as an audio&music engineer for SGI and Creative Labs, and currently develops audio technologies for BIAS, while finishing a Ph.D. on restoration of old music recordings at Stanford University. He also teaches tango guitar and tango dance in San Francisco.
