Don't be fooled by the name, this is NOT a rap/rock band. What began as an acoustic duo quickly grew to four, then five members. The momentum has grown steadily. The buzz has spread tremendously. The debut album is no longer a promise, but a reality. Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, from the outskirts of Philadelphia, Collingdale, PA to be exact, we present to you, Thugfolk.

Produced, mixed, and engineered by Owen Hoxie, Splendid Mistake is an eclectic blend of styles. Each of the members of this band comes from a slightly different place musically, making for some very fresh-sounding material. Modern rock, funk, jazz, classical, blues, and even an uptempo country two-step make this album a rollercoaster of expression that just might change your expectations of what a young band can be. From the melodic rock of the opening track, "Broke", to the lush sounds of the piano epic, "Actor", to the Nirvana-meets-Hammond B3 organ vibe of "Riddle of Existence", to the bluesy "MacDade Boulevard", Splendid Mistake has something for everyone.
