From your childâs first cry upon entering the world to that long awaited âI love youâ, your childâs voice is music to your ears. This CD was designed for young children by a mom and music therapist who is learning everyday the trials and successes of speech development both typical and delayed. I hold this project close to my heart as my inspiration came both from the joy of watching speech develop and the heartache of watching a child struggle to be heard. Therefore, my goal was to find a way to facilitate speech development in a fun, systematic and most importantly success-oriented way. I believe Sing Out! does just that.
The songs on this CD are unique in several respects. First, they are slowed down in such a way as to allow your child some âthink timeâ while keeping the integrity of the music. Next, their focus is on only the phonemes that are earliest developmentally and use both lips to form. Therefore, sound production is both visual and auditory. In addition, the songs are designed as both transition songs and play songs giving you the opportunity to incorporate them into your childâs routine each and every day to provide the essential opportunities for repeated practice. And most importantly, these songs are simple in both their lyrics and musical structure. You do not have to be a musician or singer to enjoy participating with your child.
