Hi there. My name is Todd Lorenz, I'm 35 years old, and I live in Tempe, AZ. I've been involved with music in some way, shape, or form since I was 12 years of age. My chosen form of expression is solo acoustic music with roots in blues, rock, folk, and every now and again, a touch of bluegrass.
I've been playing live music in clubs since I was about 17. I graduated from Musician's Institute in Los Angeles in 1989, and have played numerous clubs and coffeehouses, both fronting bands and as a solo act, in San Diego, CA and the greater Phoenix, AZ area. One of my proudest moments was making the AZ Blues Showdown Finals in 2000; I was the only solo act to do so that year. They now have separate categories for bands and solo artists/duets.
My goals are fairly simple. I'd like be able to make a living playing my music, and finding the right people (manager, booking agent) to help me get there would be nice. I've come to believe that it's important to be who you are (perhaps meant to be?), and that intent is one of the most powerful forces in nature. I'd like to touch people on an emotional level; to get them to feel a small part of what I do when things are really clicking while I perform. I know how I react when people touch my heart and soul; I'd like to be able to do the same.
