Details:
Modern Alternative Rock band Transport formed in the summer of 2002 in California's Central Valley blending Numerous influences and styles together. Transport, consisting of Lead Singer Nathan Penrose, Lead Guitarist Shane Rivers, Guitarist and Effects Specialist Jason Rivers, Bassist Chris Ensley and Drummer Matt Cox, set out to create Modern Rock music with meaning and passion. After selling out of the 1st 1,000 printed copies of their 2002 4 song demo the band began to generate a large buzz throughout Northern California's Music Community including area Radio Stations and live music venues.

Transport was then honored in late 2003 with the Award for "Best Alternative Rock Band" from The Modesto Area Music Association after over 10,000 area votes were cast in their favor. The band's fan base began to grow even more. Transport's music, often compared with artists such as Muse, Incubus and Radiohead, began to mature as well. So in the Spring of 2004 Transport entered the studio to record their debut album, "The Coefficient of Friction" featuring twelve original and passionate tracks. Enhanced with a music video directed by Allessandro Gentile and starring Actor Kevin Michael Walsh as well as a short Documentary, The Debut Album quickly became a must own throughout the Valley and prompted the Modesto Bee Newspaper to give Transport the title, The Latest Indie Sensation.

Taking advantage of today's online opportunities, Transport has built a Huge Fans List on Myspace.com surpassing 16,000 fans and their profile continues to gain fans literally on a daily basis. In early 2005 the band's music became available through Napster.com, itunes.com as well as CD Distribution at selected Tower Records and Borders Stores. After sharing the stage with artists such as Everclear, Josh Kelley, Anna Nalick, Styx, Vanilla Ice, Michael Tolcher, Steadman, Luce, Pay the Girl, Feel, Megan Slankard and many more as well as receiving airplay by Numerous Radio Stations in the US including Live 105 in San Francisco, Ca, KWOD 106.5 in Sacramento, Ca, X 103.9 in Santa Cruz, Ca, B93.1 KOSO in Modesto, Ca just to name a few, Transport has Locked in a spot as one of the most popular acts throughout California's Central Valley. Now with the upcoming release of a new EP "SUDDEN OAK DEATH", Transport is poised and ready for the next stage in their career.
