Traxx from da Waxx Vol. 1 is based on the tru school philosophies of the original hip hop culture born out of New York City in the late 70's. Representing the 4 main pillars of hiphop- breakin, djing, graffiti, and mcing, Club Waxx out of Houston, Texas was established in the early 90's to continue pushing the envelope for the global hiphop community. This club was the first universal hiphop spot in Houston, Texas and hosted many famous acts such as Mix Master Mike, Rahzel, DJ Aphrodite, The Roots, Kool Keith, T.C. Islam(Afrika Bambaataa's son), DAS EFX, and Black Sheep, just to name a few. This compilation was made as a time capsule of events of the time and will be recorded forever for present and future hip-hoppers to enjoy. Houston's very own Rebel Crew(www.rebelcrew.com) along with an extended family of veteran producers and musicians cultivated Starlight Beats and Breaks record label to continually put out the very best in underground music styles ranging from old and nu school hip-hop,drum and bass, 2-step, dancehall, latin, and electro to acid jazz, funky breaks, trip-hop and house.
