Details:
Los Angeles, CA - Bryson VanCleve's "Halfway to Homeless" is an indie acoustic release that will hit home with those sick of overproduced, auto tuned, big label music.

Fans of Ben Harper's delta rock, to those who favor the stories of Johnny Cash & Steve Earle, will respect the lyrics and emotional vocals on this record. VanCleve is showing he is a young folk rocker who has all of the necessary tools to build an underground following that will stick. The artist produced/engineered record offers a variety of musical sounds with big vocals. VanCleve covers life issues concerning war, drugs, the entertainment industry, blue collar work, rejection, judgment, peace, love and the process of prevailing.

The lead track âFavor from Lucyâ features a full band with added kazoos, a Wurlitzer and accordion. The fun-time psychedelic song sets an indie vibe for the album with an original sound, while having harmony work reminiscent of Brian Wilson and The Beatles. Track two âLast Train to Memphisâ is based on a true story about an amazing young blues player who could not get a gig in modern day Memphis because techno, alt rock and hip-hop acts were getting booked in his place. You will find the song completely hysterical or totally offensive, but VanCleve ensures the songâs purpose is to spark interest in keeping the blues alive and well in Memphis town. Though acoustic, the song is hard hitting with two dirty blues guitar solos and the wailing vocals of delta area native VanCleve (originally from Little Rock, Arkansas). The track also features the soul singing of Jill Marie, a talented upcoming artist who tours full-time with Bryson. Poetry with a purpose runs wild in âTomorrow Knows my Nameâ, a track dedicated to artists who sacrifice and strive to create art that touches everyday people, rather than hoping for quick money and fame. The album ends with the brilliant singer/songwriter title track âHalfway to Homelessâ. VanCleve paints pictures with words and talks about hard times while making statements in creative ways. Rather than saying âIâm poorâ, VanCleve states âCredit cards charged to the max, Uncle Sam caught me cheating on income taxâ. The album ending title track begins mellow portraying difficult obstacles most people find themselves in with current economic times, and erupts into a full gospel ending with a choir and B3 Hammond that will leave you energized and hopeful just like Mavis Staples would.

Though VanCleve produced and engineered the entire record, it did not result in the usual poor quality of releases most indie singer/songwriters are cutting these days. Bryson insists this is because of his work with Spectrasonics software genius and composer/producer Bob Daspit. Bryson stated, âBob isnât as well known as the big name producers, but can capture a great sound in the studio and mix like no one Iâve heard in L.A. Heâs worked with world-renown composers Hans Zimmer and Chris Tyng for years, while producing/engineering Sammy Hagar. Bob taught me so many tricks about microphone placements and mixing. Thatâs the reason why my record sounds good.â VanCleve is set to record a full band album this year under Daspitâs production with Curt Bisquera (Mick Jagger, Tom Petty, Elton John) on drums. Bob Daspit mixed several of the songs on âHalfway to Homelessâ and mastered the entire album.

In summary, âHalfway to Homelessâ is an album with an independent vibe that is perfectly matched by the album artwork as well. Neal Barbosa is truly a unique abstract painter who did all of the original artwork, capturing the statement and attitude of the record on canvas. "Halfway to Homeless" can be streamed for free at Brysonâs official website. Bryson will be touring full-time in 2009-10 with Jill Marie promoting the new record and music to come. Jill and Bryson create and perform art with a purpose and promote several reputable non-profit organizations. One they would love everyone to know about is Preemptive Love. Please log online and learn more about Preemptive Love and how you can help save the lives of needy children in Iraq who continue to suffer and die from aftereffects of chemical warfare.

BIO:
Bryson VanCleve is an artist who writes all genres of music with a Delta attitude and no bubblegum added. Residing in Los Angeles for the past four years, perhaps a bit out of place in the pop scene, he never looses influences from the deep south where he was born and raised. From singer/songwriter based Folk/Rock and Americana to high energy Rock and Blues/Soul, he performs it. It is a sound that comes from listening to a combination of artists such as Tom Petty & the Hearbreakers, Stevie Wonder, Ben Harper, Van Morrison, Mavis Staples, Chris Whitley, Allman Brothers, Fiona Apple and Tom Waits.

Bryson VanCleve constantly performs on the west coast from San Francisco to San Diego continuing to build a solid following. However, his largest fan base has been built and maintained in Bryson's hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas where a full band show is booked three to four times per year. Over the past four years in Little Rock, Bryson VanCleve ticket sales have ranged from 314 at the smallest turnout to 664 tickets sold at one of the most recent concerts. Bryson not only has a eight year residency in Little Rock, AR at Sticky Fingerz, but a one year residency at The Blue Room with the Durango Songwriters in Nasvhille, TN and a three year residency at The Room 5 Lounge with PRG/ACOUSTICALLY SPEAKING in Los Angeles, CA.

***TOURING*** - w/ Jill Marie
Bryson is constantly gigging as a duo act with California native singer/songwriter Jill Marie (myspace.com/jillmarie) and will begin a six month tour with her in late April 2009. Jill is an amazing vocalist and like Bryson writes a variety of styles. They are an incredible act singing harmonies and playing instruments as a two-person band (acoustic and electric guitars, drums/percussion and piano). Bryson and Jill play their original tunes on tour and cover a variety of material such as Johnny Cash & June Carter, Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Allman Brothers, & more.

THE SHOW (THE BAND)
Bryson VanCleve & The Show is the name of Bryson's full band. BVC & The Show perform in Little Rock, Arkansas and Los Angeles, California numerous times every year. Although Bryson doesn't heavily tour with his band, they have a strong chemistry and musicianship with Brad Neal from Little Rock, AR (drums, 8yrs w/ bvc), Mike Sherry from Boston (gtr, 1yr w/ bvc), the extremely talented Al Aguilar from Manila, Philippines (Bass, 2yrs w/ bvc) and Jill Marie (background vocals with the band when in L.A.). Next Concert - LIVE RECORDING with BVC & The SHOW at THE MINT in Los Angeles Nov 9, 2008).

CURRENT WORK:
The New Indie/acoustic based album, "HALFWAY TO HOMELESS" will be available on Itunes in late 2008. The official CD release party will occur on DECEMBER 3rd at Bryson's three year acoustic residency PRG/ACOUSTICALLY SPEAKING, THE ROOM 5 LOUNGE in Los Angeles, CA.
Bryson recently recorded the songs We Carry On, Serenity & Peace of Mind under the production/mixing of Bob Daspit featuring Curt Bisquera on drums. (Daspit is best known for his nine years of music/film compositional work for Hans Zimmer, his software development for Spectrasonics Inc. and his production/engineering for Sammy Hagar. World re-known drummer Curt Bisquera does extensive studio work for major label acts today, and has drummed for legends such as Elton John, Tom Petty, Seal, Clint Black, Mick Jagger, Johnny Cash, Warren Hill, etc., etc.) Bisquera and Daspit will continue to work with Bryson on his third solo release "We Live in the Gray" for 2009.
Bryson VanCleve works for premiereradio.com in Los Angeles composing live ban radio beds. He along with members from his band write and record these beds in a variety of genres showing the extreme talent and musicianship of "The Show" when working in the studio. Premiere Radio is the industry's leader in dealing with live radio for the nation's top and most popular programs from Jim Rome to Delilah to Rush Limbaugh. They are changing the industry by using a band to record live music for radio voice-overs on their programs. This is groundbreaking in the music industry since everyone else uses midi recordings rather than a live rock band. "Bryson VanCleve & The Show" is the only known band used for this today.
