How it all started...

It all started at a party in Van Nuys, CA, where Ra Navarro, lead singer of Trip was introduced to Marco Hernandez, the band's bassist. The two instantly became best friends, and ever since have been playing side by side in various bands and musical projects. Giving L.A. one last shot before going to New York, Aaron Urquhart answered an ad and came in for an audition. "I showed up early and listened outside the door while the band rehearsed. Within minutes, I was interested and convinced that it could work," recalls Aaron, lead guitarist for Trip. With this power trio firmly in place, the band was off and running. Over time, several drummers came in and out the mix, but something was still missing - and as serendipity would have it, that missing ingredient would come in the form of a gifted and energetic drummer from Detroit named Jeff Urbach. "We practically went through every drummer in LA. Tons of guys auditioned, some straight-out sucked, some preferred session work to joining a band, and others simply did not fit Trip for one reason or another. I was about to learn how to play the damn things myself . . . and just then the right guy finally showed up", explains Ra.

So what do they sound like? Trip's influences span punk, mainstream, pop, funk and rock, but the end result produces appealing marketable songs that are edgy, infectious, and extremely memorable. "Blah Blah" is a high energy, in your face, toe-tappin' ditty with an unforgettable hook that leaves you humming the tune for hours on end. Anyone who has ever gone unnoticed by the girl of his dreams will relate to the message of "All That She Wanted." "What I'll Never Be" is an anthem about unrealized dreams, and self-inflicted failure. "We usually end up writing songs that have to do with our personal lives and encompass what we're going through. It just ends up that a lot of people are going through the same things we are. But then again, maybe we just make it all up", quips Aaron.

Trip plays regularly at clubs around Los Angeles, and has appeared on national television on Ed McMahon's 'Next Big Star'. Their music and entertaining live shows draw fans from all over the Southland and win over new followers with every performance. In fact, their music has so much commercial appeal that it's found its way into the Season One DVD of the Warner Bros. hit TV show 'Smallville', MTV's 'Undressed', and the motion picture 'Going Down'.

Trip has secured endorsements from various clothing and instrument companies including Johnny Suede, Sha-Sha Fine Shoes, VIP Drums, Emite Sticks, and RotoSound Strings. Trip recently signed a production, recording and development deal with Haven Arts, who's Producers and Engineers have worked with some of the biggest names in the music world. Trip is currently looking to sign to a major record label. "It's only a matter of time until the right one comes along...and until then, we'll just keep writing songs and doing what we do", asserts Ra.
