Trip9 was formed in 2001 by Lee and Chris, with a drive to bring real original alt-metal-rock, to an area and a time primarily dominated by Hip Hop, Boy Bands, and any other forms of music that failed to bring real Rock to the listener's stereo. With a mission and a love for music, they began writing some of the first tracks for the debut release, Desolation. Replacing the drum machine with long time friend and drummer Andy, the band and the album was under way. After the success of a self titled five song EP, the three decided a fourth member was needed to complete the line up. To continue with the writing, and recording of the full length release, Chucky was brought in to bring the fourth piece together to create the huge guitar driven sound that has become Trip9's trademark. With a live show as intense as the album, Trip9's mission is to bring their sound and style to every listener that wants real music. In 2003, Trip9 added a fifth member. Shane brings even more to the creative side of the music with his soulful, heavy guitar riffs and leads. The band is currently in the studio recording the follow up to Desolation, projected to be released in winter 2005.
