The creation of Magazine Chin began in Stavanger, Norway in early 2008 as a musical experiment to combine elements of funk, heavy metal, and hard rock into a sound which was truly the band' s own. The members of the band are Eric Molumby (vocals), Håkon Dirdal (guitar), and brothers Harald Nilsen Lid (bass) and Brynjar Nilsen Lid (drums).
Magazine Chin are becoming known for their wild, energetic live shows, as well as their unusual stage attire. Each member of the band wears an identical white uniform which symbolizes freedom (and comfort) on stage, as well as being a satire of musicians as trendsetters and their need to be taken seriously by appearance.
On the 1st of November 2008, Magazine Chin's first EP, THIS IS MAGAZINE CHIN was released on the band's Myspace, and features the tracks; "Under Your Thumb", "Let Loose", and "This Is (Not An Exit)". With its soaring vocals, razor-sharp guitars, driving grooves, and atmospheric melodies, which vary between forceful and gentle, THIS IS MAGAZINE CHIN is all balls from start to finish.
