Details:
The Indianapolis, IN based band officially started the fall of â02. Long-time friends Bryan and Ted started playing around with some musical ideas. Bryan then picked up guitar so that they could see how entire songs sounded. Shortly thereafter, they met Dwite, who was a friend of Bryanâs brother, Alex. Dwite began playing guitar for the band early of â03, and Louis, Tedâs Brother-n-law, joined the band singing.

This line-up lead to a few more songs ideas. After this, the band separated from Dwite and Louis and at first it seems they would stay disbanded. Derek joined the band as a temporary singer while Dwite sat in for one last show [in Bryan's basement]. After this show, Bryan began talking with a friend of his from Lincoln Tech, named Stephen Guy, since they would soon need a new guitarist. After the addition of Stephen, Derek decided that he would also like to play guitar. This left the band with two guitarists but no singers.

TJ, a friend of Tedâs fiancee, Lindsey, showed interest in the band and after Derek had asked him to try out, was quickly added to the line up. This led the band to a 5-person set up with Derek and Stephen filling the guitar section and TJ with vocals. The band practiced a lot, helping TJ and Stephen learn their current songs, but didn't write any new material. After a bit, the band decided to add Louis back to the fold, making the band 2 guitarists, 2 singers, a bassist, and a drummer.

Although they liked the dichotomy of the singers, Louis and the rest of the band agreed that was his growing family and his work, he wouldn't work out. The band still knew they wanted to have two singers, so they auditioned Johnny(a friend of TJ's).

Unfortunately, Stephen's life would prove to be busy to handle the band, so he went his own way. Later, Johnny would also prove to be too busy and went his own way as well. Now, Broken Equilibrium is a four-piece band (trying to change this soon if we can find a guitarist and keyboardist) playing out when the venues allow us.
