Joe Paul Nichols âThe Price Is Rightâ is a life long dream of Texas Country Music Legend Joe Paul Nichols. Nichols has long admired the music of Country Music Hall of Famer Ray Price and honors his hero with a new twelve song tribute cd.

âWe tried to portray the strong fiddle and steel sound Ray had during the late fifties and sixties,â Nichols said. âThat sound is still heard across Texas and the Southwest today. I personally donât think that this style, which Ray started many moons ago, will ever die.â

Nichols chose his twelve favorite Ray Price songs to include on the new album. There are many standards including âInvitation To The Bluesâ âOne More Timeâ âEach Timeâ âPrideâ âIâll Be Thereâ and âIâve Got A New Heartache.â He also included a couple of lesser known songs from the Price catalog including the inspirational âFaithâ and the Willie Nelson composition âYou Took My Happy Away.â

This is the first project for Nichols under the Heart of Texas Records banner.

âThe Price Is Rightâ was recorded in Martindale, Texas, at the Justin Trevino studio, using the finest musicians in Texas including Dickie Overby on steel, Bobby Flores on fiddle, Floyd Domino on Piano, Jake Hooker on bass, Jim Loessburg on drums, Dave Biller on guitar and Trevino on acoustic guitar and harmonies.

âThis is my twenty fourth album, and will be my last new CD unless God intervenes in my life,â Nichols said. âI was diagnosed with A.L.S. in September 2008. It has taken my singing voice away. It was working on me a little at the time I recorded this CD, but I didnât know what it was. I canât complain though, because God has allowed me to have a great career in Country Music.â
