Jono made his first appearance to on the Australian music scene at 19 years of age a as vocal front-man of the funk/acid jazz band, The Jive Express. The group featured some of Australiaâs best jazz musicians and they played regularly in some of the countryâs most reputable venues. Along with a rigorous touring schedule, which saw Jono join them on eight tours of Australia and two of New Zealand, he also recorded two albums with the group with a sea of guests, including some of Australiaâs best musical talent.

Now a jazz graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Jono has cultivated a healthy position in the music scene throughout Australia. His unique tone and musicality has allowed him much versatility. His love for jazz is met with his experience in funk, soul, R&B, electronica, gospel and dance music, as well as being a songwriter in his own right. This versatility has allowed him opportunities in various of bands including feature vocalist for the jazz big band, the Mace Francis Orchestra, drum ânâ bass group, The Resonance and funk collective, The Roast, with which he has both performed with and recorded for. More recently Jono has featured on several European dance releases with both Jaffa Music and Seamless Recording labels.

The debut album âPlacesâ draws on his diverse range of musical influences to create a dynamic and fresh new sound that hails him as a considerable force in the world of soul music. Containing ten original tracks, the album not only showcases Jonoâs unique vocal prowess and distinct sensitivity to style but also his ability to communicate the secrets of the soul with the craftsmanship of a true songwriter. He is joined by an exceptional fleet of some of Australiaâs best musicians including Andy Fisenden (drums), Mat Jodrell (trumpet/flugelhorn), Troy Roberts (tenor saxophone), Danny Martin (vocals) and Rachel Claudio (vocals).
