Born and raised in East Tennessee where his unique sound has been shaped. Darrell comes from a very musical family. His grandparents were traveling muscians and as far back as he can remember, he has been surrounded by music. While attending the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Darrell began playing the guitar his sophomore year. "I just had something to say and couldn't say it any other way, so I picked up my roomates guitar and there it was." says Darrell

Darrell also says that music as a full time occupation is very new to him but he plans to pursue it as far as it will take him. He and his wife Kristin are expecting a baby later this year and both are very excited.

"The Voice Inside" showcases Darrell as a writer and performer. The project was recorded in just 5 days. "A door opened up and we(Darrell and wife) decided that this was the right time." Darrell is very proud of the recording that lets his listeners have a more intimate feel with songs like, "Crazy Way" and "Burning Inside Of Me." These songs were recorded with no backgrounds so that it is like Darrell himself is giving a private show. Also, songs like, "All We Need" and "Climb On" allow the listener the feel of more production. This CD deals with many subjects from sexual abuse to relationships with friends and touches upon a spiritual vein which Darrell taps into frequently.

Darrell's thoughts are this: "I hope that people who hear this CD will walk away encouraged, challenged, and changed."
