Venita Turner
Vocalist Venita Turner has been captivating audiences with her God-given talent for over three decades.
Venita's performing career began at the age of three, when her talents were showcased at the National Baptist Convention. Venita was a featured artist at several subsequent Conventions, and she was selected as "Vocalist of the Year" for the state of Alabama in 1986. She also has twice been honored as the winner of the Omega Psi Phi District Talent Search. In 2001 she was selected to sing the National Anthem during the annual "Turkey Day Classic." Ms. Turner was named as a 2002 songwriting finalist at the MOVA Arts festival held in Guntersville, AL. She was selected out of more than 500 national and international entries.
Venita has fused elements of jazz, pop, gospel and r&b to create a unique vocal sound that transcends ethnic and generational boundaries. Her multi-dimensional style has allowed her to leap beyond the standard genre lines to create music that touches the soul, inspires the mind and stimulates the body.
In November 2001 she released a Christmas single entitled "What Christmas is all About." The single was played on fourteen stations across Alabama, six in North Carolina and was heard via the internet in California, New York, Las Vegas and Miami. Her debut project "Life's Song" will be released February 2003.
