Details:
Roberto Valle and Leo Castro first played together in a cover band. This group suffered a lot of changes of line-up for almost 4 years before its end. Always with the goal of one day playing their own songs, they persisted and finally resolved to put their idea to practice. Roberto calls his old friend, Marcos Mayer, to ask him to join the band. A few days later they met Guilherme and Pierre by Internet. Vitrea was formed.
In the end of 2003 they entered the "Semp Toshiba Festival Transamérica of Bands" with the song "Vitrea", the same name of the band, and were selected for the semi-final from 650 bands in all of Brazil. Also, they were the first band in the south of Brazil to play in english on the contest and in Transamerica Radio for the whole country.
January of 2004 saw the release of the first independent CD, titled "No Answers," pressed by Sony Music Brazil. Still in January, starting slowly to the market, Roberto Valle went to Europe to visit some radio stations in 8 countries (Spain, France, Holland, UK, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, and Italy).
Two months after the release of the CD, Leo Castro quit the band for personal reasons, and after some auditions with a lot of drummers, they chose Fábio Lavalle, Mayer's friend. In the end of March they hit the US market through their agent, Jennifer Ramsey, on the first radio stations and MP3 sites on the internet.
Despite being and new band, Vitrea wants to show music with improving quality day by day. This brought the band good critics from so many people. This is still important in their new songs that are being composed between rehearsals and concerts for their new CD that is scheduled to start recording in the end of 2004 to be released in 2005.
