War Pigeon came together in the spring of 2003 When New York raised guitarist and song writer Ben Bloom, and Seattle based drummer and bass player Cody Rahn were looking for other musicians to form a group to perform material from a recent studio session. After rehearsals and auditions, one man made the cut, and Ben Reece, took the role of Fretless Bass. Quickly, it became apparent that what these men were doing when they played music together was creating an experience that transcended the articulation of modern American language.

Their music stems from taking risks, breaking down musical barriers, yet retaining the pure musical integrity that identifies American and world roots music. All categories describe War Pigeon as well as they negate what War Pigeon is all about. Aural globalization: Music without boundaries.
